Our History
Over the years, Global Equip Network has expanded its reach across Africa by training and equipping pastors and leaders, strengthening churches and fostering spiritual maturity in diverse communities.
History Of Global Equip Network - GEN
Global Equip Network was founded with a deep passion to equip pastors and church leaders across Africa with the biblical training and practical tools they need to lead healthy churches. What began as a small grassroots effort quickly grew into a continental mission, as the need for solid discipleship and leadership training among underserved pastors became increasingly evident. Our mission is to strengthen the global church by training, equipping, and releasing leaders who will impact their communities for Christ. Global Equip seeks to bridge the gap where theological resources are limited and provide a network of encouragement and accountability for those on the frontlines of ministry.
Over the years, Global Equip Network has responded to the increasing number and diversity of needs by expanding its training programs to serve leaders in some of the most rural, challenged, and vulnerable areas of Africa. Global Equip was among the first to pioneer contextualized training models that integrate both biblical knowledge and practical ministry skills, empowering pastors to minister effectively within their cultural realities. We have developed specialized programs for leaders serving in areas of poverty, conflict zones, and unreached people groups, as well as for young leaders preparing to step into pastoral ministry. Global Equip continues to adapt its programs to meet emerging needs, from digital learning tools to mentorship networks that span across borders. We have become a trusted partner in leadership development, evidenced by ongoing invitations from churches, mission agencies, and international partners to collaborate on expanding the reach and impact of the training. Global Equip Network remains committed to its vision of raising up leaders who multiply disciples and strengthen the Body of Christ worldwide.

2017 - Present
In 2017, Global Equip Network was birthed out of a personal journey of faith and vision. Its founder, Ronnie Matsons, moved from Uganda with a deep conviction that the call of God extended beyond the four walls of the church. Driven by a desire to see leaders equipped and the church strengthened in practical, biblical ways, Ronnie began laying the foundation for a ministry that would cross borders and cultures while keeping Africa at its heart.
What started as a small effort to encourage pastors and leaders soon grew into a network that provided training, resources, and mentoring opportunities across multiple African nations. Conferences, workshops, and digital platforms became vital tools to equip those who often lacked access to affordable theological education or leadership development. This emphasis on empowering local leaders created a ripple effect, strengthening entire churches and communities.
From 2017 to the present, Global Equip has continued to respond to the growing needs of the African church while building relationships with international partners who share the same vision. The network has become known for equipping leaders with biblical depth, cultural relevance, and practical ministry skills. Today, Global Equip Network remains committed to seeing the church in Africa thrive and to raising up a new generation of leaders who carry the mission of Christ beyond walls and into the world.
